Artist's Comments
This is the Todd McFarlane character, Mandarin Spawn: The Scarlet Edge. I don't know if this character ever showed up in the comics but if he did I believe he was part of the "Dark Ages" series. At any rate, McFarlane made a toy of this character and the detail alone was/is amazing. Beautiful yet frightening, almost like Geiger's interpretation of the mongolian culture or something. This was drawn first in pencils, then inked with Faber Castell brush nibs and finally the computer. Been working on this in my spare time for the last week.
